The DS-500 is, in a word, AWESOME! It is a well-made, high quality piece of equipment. It's light and it's bright! I can tell the difference when riding; cars see me sooner and from farther away which gives them TIME to avoid me. Thanks for a great product which enhances safety!

You're buying more than just the best taillight ou	March 27, 2015

This taillight really stands out on a bright sunny day. Not a day goes by that a driver a fellow cyclist doesn't ask me about it. Why is this this the best light out there? Two reasons: service & function.

The bottom line is that you will not find a company that is more dedicated to serving their customers. Stephen responded to every minor question I had with detailed instructions and diagrams. He has offered a level of support that goes above and beyond.

In terms of function, simply put, you will not find a better light out there. It blasts out a verified 800 lumens -- tested in by Lupine in Germany. I'm certain that other companies that make high-end bike lights wouldn't go near this level of brightness for fear of being sued! It offers a variety of attention-grabbing flashing patterns that are completely customizable if you are so inclined. Also, a seperate battery means that you won't have to replace the whole thing every few years like you do your cell phone.

I ride out in the country on county roads. I wanted to be able to draw attention to myself while riding from a long distance so that logging trucks and regular drivers speeding along become aware of a cyclist ahead. This light does exactly that. I had a neighbor stop and tell me that he thought the blinking DS-500 was a police car with someone pulled over. He saw the light clearly from over a 1/4 mile away. That's definitely drawing attention and making drivers aware of a bicyclist on the road. Excellent quality light and superb customer service.

If you want to be seen in the daytime, this is the light to use!
Everything Stephan says is so accurate. He offers a money back policy. One no longer has to wait for-ever to get the light.
I have a box full of less expensive lights. They are fine for night use, but for day time cage driver behavior modification and accident reduction possibilities, you can do NO better. Besides, just watch the various comparison videos. If you are serious about being safe, the DS500 is the only answer to date.

All aspects of this light are top shelf from mounting, to light output to light projection. Thanks Stephan for a super great product that can save life and limb!

i am a 50yr old mountain biker always had good bikes over the years but rubbish lights if the ds 500 was out 30 40 yrs ago the road would of been a safer place for us on bikes i do some bike rides at night and done my own testing on it 1 test was distance in total night dark no street lights at all and at 100 metres all modes wear very good 2nd about 200 meters still all modes very good this was done on an empty farm lane then i did test on roads with bends and still it was very bright in all modes daytime was just as good but its hard to do proper test because of cloud cover at differant times of day but distance test in daylight on main roads was very good still at 100 metres all modes very bright and at 200 meters very good i am waiting for the front light to be in stock to test my idea is you pay for what you get and this light is worth every penny thanks ste

A bit on the pricey side but you cannot put a price on safety.
Exactly what I was looking for, cannot ask for more.

Delivery was fast -- even to Japan.
Excellent customer service, detailed and quick replies to emailed questions.

I have noticed a marked difference in nighttime cycling, cars don't get "too close" anymore.

Clearly very high quality, all aspects of the end product feel very solid.

Thank you for a great product, I have already recommended this to friends and colleagues.

Best, brightest, most solid build on the market. I use mine for a daytime running light and night riding on my daily commutes.

I've even had a few cops pull up next to me at stoplights and compliment my taillight.

Once you own this taillight, you're done. You don't need to ever look for a better one, because there isn't a better one. It's as close to a perfect thing as I've ever bought.

I'm super pleased with this tail light! Daytime visibility is unsurpassed. Engineering of this light is remarkable, it is small, highly effective, and well made. I received immediate response from cars from the rear. They slow, move over, and hesitate before passing like never before. Customer support is outstanding. Thanks Stephen!

I have used other tail lights and to be honest, they are not that great but I guess better than nothing.
I have noticed that the cars go into the left
lane a lot sooner. I also like all the different light settings. I have had a lot of people say that that is the brightest light they have seen. Now that meens I can be seen. I use these light even during the day and cars can still see me.
Please keep up the good work. Also the customer service is great. Thanks for the tip
on fixing the cold weather issue using shrink tube. It turns on now much better in the cold winter.......
